If you are part of a project or organisation involved in Christian social action and would like to know more about Mosaic, please send an email.]]><![CDATA[Birds, Fish & Donkeys - report and photos]]>Wed, 09 Nov 2022 18:28:18 GMThttps://www.mosaicjusticenetwork.org/news/birds-fish-donkeys-report-and-photosOur latest Street Stories event, 'Birds, Fish & Donkeys: bringing back Kingdom provision and economics' took place in the Collier Room at Methodist Central Hall (fitting as Samuel Francis Collier was ahead of his time as an entrepreneur in the early 20th century). Numbers were low – why don't Christians like to talk about money? – but it was an excellent meeting with great stories, thoughtful and inspiring content from our three guests, Matt Wilson, Monique Kufour and Matt Parfitt (click on their names to find out ​more about the enterprises they head up) and a lively Q&A session.

​The evening also featured the launch by Andrew Belfield of The Ravens – a new community of entrepreneurs, business and faith leaders who want to invest in  civic, social and for-profit entrepreneurs and provide a platform of support, encouragement, training and investment to empower the marketplace leaders of tomorrow. ]]><![CDATA[STREET STORIES - BIRDS, FISH & DONKEYS]]>Mon, 17 Oct 2022 10:15:10 GMThttps://www.mosaicjusticenetwork.org/news/street-stories-birds-fish-donkeysOur next 'Street Stories' event will be on Tuesday November 8, 7:15pm in Methodist Central Hall, Manchester. 'Birds, Fish & Donkeys: bringing back Kingdom Provision and Economics' is a timely theme for the current 'cost of living crisis' asking what practical guidance can we find in the Bible to re-assure us of the caring kindness of God? We are told to seek first the Kingdom and “all of these things” that everyone worries about will be “added to us”. But what does that look like? We read of birds bringing provision, a fish with a tax payment and a donkey for transport! Really? How does God’s provision work in modern times? Where does entrepreneurship and wealth creation fit in the Kingdom of God?

]]><![CDATA[Mosaic September meeting]]>Wed, 28 Sep 2022 17:41:55 GMThttps://www.mosaicjusticenetwork.org/news/mosaic-september-meetingOur September 2022 meeting was an excellent and encouraging time with quality fellowship, sharing and prayer. We were ably hosted (and fed) by Barnabus. Thank you everyone for coming and making it a memorable couple of hours sabbath time out of our busy schedules. Several said they were so glad they had made the effort to come.

Ian Rutherford told us about an open letter sent to the Prime Minister, signed by over 50 faith, charity and organisational leaders, calling for direct support for the poorest households in response to rising living costs. You can read it here. 
 
Andrew introduced the next Street Stories on the 8th November. ‘Birds, fish and Donkeys’ will be about Kingdom Economics and God’s provision and promises to be a valuable and well-timed event given the waves of crises affecting cost-of-living we as a country have been hit by this year. Please make it a priority to come, and invite others (7:15 for 7:30, Methodist Central Hall).

Our next meeting of the Mosaic network will be on Tuesday December 6, 12-2pm. Venue TBA.

In February we said goodbye to Tom Skinner who had been on the facilitating team since the start. Tom has changed job and is unable now to give the time to Mosaic. We wish him God's blessing in his new role and thank him for his huge contribution to the network.

At our May meeting we welcomed Michelle Bucknor of 'Press Red' onto the facilitating team alongside Andrew and Paul.
